Aloe has healing properties that work in two different ways, one to agitate and one to soothe.
They are used both internally and externally on skin and in the digestive tract. It sounds confusing so let’s lay out the differences.
In one form, the latex form, aloe is used to relieve constipation and is made from the whole leaf. It is harsh and internally used for constipation. It can also be used externally on skin.
The other form is also used internally and used for soothing and healing the digestive tract. It is filtered from the whole leaf to eliminate the harsh property of relieving constipation.
When looking for aloe, check the label to see if it is the filtered or unfiltered version. It makes a difference!
